What’s happening in Colorado?

PROPOSITION 79 -- is the Colorado Initiative to reintroduce wolves to public lands west of the Continental Divide by the end of 2023

Colorado is the missing link for the connectivity of wolves from Mexico to the Arctic. Without it, the Rocky Mountains are void of what is needed for a healthy balanced ecosystem.

What makes PROP 79 different from the 1995 and 1996 reintroduction of wolves in Idaho and Yellowstone National Park? PROP 79 takes the federal government out of the decision making process and puts it directly in the hands of Colorado voters.

If voter approved, the Colorado Wildlife Commission  would be required to create a plan using the best available science to reintroduce what has long been missing from the wilds of Colorado - the Gray Wolf.

Wolves of the Rockies understands the need for this reintroduction, we also know, from years of hard work in Montana,  how important education is for a successful outcome. Education is the key to what is arguably the most misunderstood and misinterpreted wild animal in our history. It is possible, and proven, that everyone can coexist with wildlife if given the correct information, and the tools to do so. This is why Wolves of the Rockies and many other groups here in Colorado are working with the Rocky Mountain Wolf Project to make this initiative a success.

Stay tuned and up-to-date as we work toward a healthier and more balanced ecosystem here in Colorado.

We are going to need your help and support to get this done.

Thank you,

Kim

It all started when…Kim Beam is our Colorado and Wyoming Wolves of the Rockies representative. Kim has been battle harden in Montana and is overly qualified to represent wolves in these two states

The time has come to provide permanent protection for Yellowstone wolves. Please support Wolves of the Rockies in their mission. Kim is helping lead that charge!
